Huiquan Bay is located on the east side of Qingdao Bay, starting from Little Qingdao in the west and extending to Huiquan Cape in the east. With charming scenery, many famous seaside landscapes in Qingdao are distributed along the shore of this bay, such as Luxun Park, Marine Products Museum, Aquarium, the First Bathing Beach, Xiaoyu Hill Park, Huiquan Square, the Badaguan Sanatorium Area, Donghai Hotel and the Site of Huiquan Fortress.
Together with the coast of Qingdao Bay, it forms the golden coastline for tourism in Qingdao. It has the reputations of "the Switzerland of the East" and "the Geneva of Asia".
The First Bathing Beach is situated within Huiquan Bay. With fine sand, gentle slopes and calm waters, it is an excellent natural seaside bathing beach. The beach is huge in scale and well-equipped. When the tide is high, the area of the sandy beach reaches 24,000 square meters. It can receive hundreds of thousands of people taking a bath every day and is the largest seaside bathing beach in China. There are shark-proof nets and lifeboats set up at the bathing beach.
