Zhushan National Forest Park is located in the west of Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone. It can be reached along the Jiaozhou Bay Expressway and is about 68 kilometers away from the urban area of Qingdao. Covering an area of 40.79 square kilometers, it was approved and established by the State Forestry Administration in December 2000.
In Zhushan National Forest Park, the mountains are magnificent and steep, and the strange rocks are vivid. The main peak, Xiaozhushan, has an altitude of 724.9 meters, which is the highest among the peaks on the west coast of Qingdao. There are more than 40 peaks of various sizes surrounding it. The peaks are covered with lush greenery and have different mountain colors, integrating the characteristics of being strange, precipitous, beautiful and secluded. There has long been a saying that "There are Laoshan in the east and Zhushan in the west, and the two pearls are embedded in the clouds".
The entire Zhushan mountain range runs from east to west. The terrain is high in the south and low in the north, stretching for 13 kilometers. The park has a beautiful ecological environment and abundant natural resources. It is jointly called "Laoshan in the east and Zhushan in the west" with Qingdao Laoshan. The region of this forest park belongs to the warm-temperate semi-humid monsoon climate zone, with humid air, abundant rainfall, moderate temperature and distinct four seasons.
