Huilange Pavilion

This pavilion is a two-story octagonal pavilion. It is covered with colorful glazed tiles and supported by 24 red-painted pillars. There is a spiral staircase in the center of the pavilion. The upstairs is surrounded by glass windows, and there is a saying that "each window presents a view, and each view is like a painting". We can look out through the windows and see the beautiful Qingdao Bay, various surrounding scenic spots and famous architectures from all directions.

The three characters on the plaque of "Huilange Pavilion" were originally inscribed by Shen Honglie, the former mayor of Qingdao City. During the second occupation of Qingdao by Japan, this plaque was looted and taken to Japan and exhibited in the Tokyo Army Museum in Japan to show off its "achievements" in the War of Aggression against China. Now the three characters of "Huilange Pavilion" are written by the famous calligrapher Shu Tong.
