Qingdao Hill Park

Also known as Jingshan, it is located on the west side of Qingdao Zhongshan Park and closely adjacent to Qingdao Baihua Garden. It is the remaining ridge extending westward from Taiping Mountain, with a height of 128 meters. In the late Qing Dynasty, the garrison general Zhang Gaoyuan once set up defenses on the mountain and built barracks on the southwest slope of the mountain. After Germany occupied Qingdao, the mountain was named after the German chancellor and called "Bismarck Hill", and two permanent forts, namely the "Bismarck Forts", were built on the south side of the mountain. During the Russo-Japanese War, these forts dealt a heavy blow to the Japanese army.

Later, when the German army was forced to surrender due to insufficient troops, they blew up the forts, but the steel gun mounts and concrete gun chambers remained intact, becoming a historical witness to the aggression of Qingdao by the colonists. In the 1980s, Qingdao Hill was developed into a hilltop park. Hiking trails and stone steps were built in the park, winding their way to the top of the mountain. On the top of the mountain, there are scenic walls with glazed tile roofs and pavilions for enjoying the view.
