The Qingdao Museum covers a rather large area and has a relatively rich and diverse collection. There are four exhibition halls here, namely the Porcelain Hall, the Calligraphy and Painting Hall, the Jade Ware Hall and the Qingdao History Hall. Among them, the Qingdao History Hall is the most attractive. Besides the display of many old items from Qingdao, there are also restored historical landscapes of Qingdao.

The large-scale permanent exhibitions here include "The Light of Qingdao's Historical Civilization". Meanwhile, seven exhibitions such as "The Exhibition of Calligraphy and Painting in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the Collection", "The Exhibition of Rubbings of Ancient Inscriptions in the Collection", "The Exhibition of Modern and Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting in the Collection", "The Exhibition of Ancient Porcelain Art in the Collection", "The Exhibition of Currencies in the Collection through the Ages", "The Exhibition of Ancient Handicrafts in the Collection" and "The Exhibition of International Exchange Gifts in the Collection" are on display all year round.
