Qingdao Underwater World is a national 4A-level tourist scenic area and a national popular science education base, operated by Qingdao Huiquan Ocean Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. The scenic area is located on the shore of Huiquan Bay in Qingdao, adjacent to Lu Xun Park and the First Bathing Beach. It is an iconic scenic area on the golden tourist coastline of Qingdao between Zhanqiao Pier and Badaguan, and has become a classic tourist scenic area representing Qingdao's "red tiles and green trees, blue sea and clear sky".

The Qingdao Underwater World scenic area was expanded on the basis of the first aquarium in China - Qingdao Aquarium (built in 1932). The scenic area includes seven exhibition halls: the Dreamy Jellyfish Palace, the Marine Life Museum, the Seal Museum, the Freshwater Life Museum, the Whale Museum, the Underwater World, and the Marine Science and Technology Museum. It combines marine tourism and sightseeing with popular science education, integrating the richness and diversity of marine life. Here, you can see about 2,000 types and more than 20,000 rare marine biological specimens; you can observe thousands of kinds and tens of thousands of rare marine organisms from all over the world, such as the South African sand tiger shark with a body length of 4 meters, the black-spotted stingray with a diameter of 2 meters and known as the "devil fish", and so on; there is also an 82.6-meter-long underwater tunnel, allowing you to immerse yourself in a dreamy world of "harmony between man and nature, as if you were on the scene"!

With its beautiful natural environment, long history and culture, profound cultural heritage, unique popular science advantages, and convenient subway transportation - as the Qingdao Aquarium and Qingdao Underwater World scenic area, which was described as "the first in our country" by Cai Yuanpei, it is an aquarium with unique marine cultural connotations, supported by many newly renovated venues and rich marine life, highlighted by stories such as "the story of Longya's integrity, the love story of making a solemn pledge of love, and the battle between the squid and the sperm whale", and served by many "underwater people" who "exchange hearts with hearts and create touching moments". It is the only underground aquarium in the country that is "nestled against the mountains and by the sea, with the sea in the mountains". Here, you can experience the dream of the blue ocean and taste the true feeling of the sea. It can be said that it is "a marine family, a sacred place for popular science; extensive and profound, dreamy and magical"!
