The former residence of Tong Dizhou is located in Tong Village, Tangxi Town, Yinzhou District. It is a courtyard-style building with a three-entry layout and seven bays, which is constructed with bricks and wood.
The existing houses were built in the late Qing Dynasty and face south. The front row is bungalows, and the east and west sides are kitchens. The two-story building in the back row is the place where Mr. Tong Dizhou was born, lived and studied. There are more than 10 pieces of Qing-style furniture such as beds, tables, writing desks, wardrobes and chairs left in the current living rooms, and they are all well preserved. It is a typical residential building in the form of a quadrangle courtyard in the late Qing Dynasty. Since its initial construction, this building has never been rebuilt or undergone large-scale repairs. Its overall structure remains unchanged and is full of ancient charm.
