Built in 1901, it was originally a building with a brick-wood structure. It had a red-brick exterior wall and a total of four floors including the attic. The whole building boasted smooth lines.
In 2009, the property rights unit of the building, Qingdao Unicom Company, restored this old building that had withstood the vicissitudes of a hundred years to its original state while maintaining its historical appearance. On November 21, 2010, funded by Qingdao Unicom Company, it was renovated and turned into the Qingdao Post and Telecommunications Museum, which was officially opened to the public.
More than 1,000 items related to telecommunications and postal services were exhibited there. It is the first post and telecommunications museum in Shandong Province.
