The former site of the German Governor's Mansion in Kiaochow is a modern German-style building. After Germany occupied Qingdao in 1897, this Governor's Mansion was completed in 1906. The building features the characteristics of European public buildings in the 19th century. It is in an "concave" shape, and its roof is covered with red cylindrical tiles. Later, it became the office location for the Qingdao Municipal Government and the Qingdao Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Subsequently, with the completion of the new city hall building, its use was discontinued. Now, visitors are not allowed to enter and visit inside, but they can take photos at the entrance as a souvenir.
