university road was initially built after Germany occupied Qingdao. A modern road was paved along the Qingdao River, and a stone bridge was constructed at the intersection of today's Huangxian Road, allowing the road to extend northward. It was named Ospas Street. However, the local people in Qingdao called it Dongguan Street.

university road connects Longkou Road, Yushan Road, Huangxian Road, Huashan Road, and Yexian Road successively from south to north. On both sides are residential buildings that combine Chinese and Western styles. Along the road, there are Qingdao Yucai Middle School, the People's Hall, the Oriental Hotel, the Qingdao Urban Construction Archives, the Qingdao Museum, university Road Primary School, Ocean University of China (Yushan Campus), and so on.

university road is located in Shinan District, Qingdao City. The buildings here have an obvious Western style, and there are multiple scenic spots distributed here, such as Ocean University of China, the Art Museum, the former residence of Wen Yiduo, and the former residence of Kang Youwei.
