The number of days to spend in Qingdao depends on your interests and the type of experience you want to have. Here are some suggestions:
3-4 days: This is a good option for a short visit to get a taste of the city.
Day 1: Explore the old city area. You can visit the Tsingtao Beer Museum to learn about the history and production process of the famous beer. Then go to Zhongshan Road, stroll around the Catholic Church and the Post and Telecommunications Museum. In the afternoon, climb Signal Hill to overlook the cityscape, and don't forget to check out the Internet-famous wall on Longjiang Road and the former residence of Lao She1.
Day 2: Focus on the coastal scenery. Start from Badaxia, walk along the trestle bridge, enjoy the view of Xiaoqingdao and Qinyu Road. Then go to Lu Xun Park and the First Bathing Beach. In the afternoon, visit the Badaguan Scenic Area with its European-style architecture, and in the evening, go to May 4th Square to see the night view13.
Day 3: Head to Laoshan. You can choose to visit either the Yangkou Scenic Area to enjoy the sea and mountain scenery and visit the Taoist temples, or the Jiushui Scenic Area to admire the beautiful natural landscape of the mountain stream. In the afternoon, if you still have time, you can go to the Qingdao Underwater World to watch the marine life show12.
Day 4: If you have an extra day, you can go to Huangdao District to see the Golden Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Qingdao. You can also take a look at the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge2.
5-7 days: This allows for a more in-depth exploration.
Addition to the previous itinerary: On the fourth day, you can visit the Naval Museum to learn about the history and development of the Chinese navy. Or go to the Qingdao Art Museum to appreciate various art exhibitions. In the evening, go to Taidong Food Street to taste all kinds of local snacks. On the fifth day, you can take a day trip to Qushan Island or other nearby small islands to experience the fishing village life. On the sixth day, you can go to the Sculpture Park or the Stone Old Man Bathing Beach to enjoy the seaside scenery and have some leisure time. On the seventh day, you can go shopping in the city center and buy some local specialties as souvenirs.
More than 7 days: If you have more time, you can not only fully experience the above attractions and activities but also have the opportunity to explore some less well-known but equally charming places, such as the lesser-known beaches and fishing villages along the coast, or participate in some local cultural activities and festivals to have a more comprehensive understanding of the local culture and customs of Qingdao.
