The former site of the original Qingdao International Club at No. 1 Zhongshan Road has always been a social gathering place for the upper class since its completion. It is now a German restaurant offering authentic German dishes. I believe that the atmosphere here is definitely more important than the taste of the food.

Starting from here, we step onto Zhongshan Road in Qingdao. Yes, it seems that many cities have a Zhongshan Road, and they are all major streets, such as in Xiamen. Once upon a time, Zhongshan Road in Qingdao was the absolute commercial center of the city. In the hearts of the older generation, "going to Shangjieli" was the epitome of fashion.

However, as time has passed and for various reasons, the area around Zhongshan Road now gives a somewhat desolate feeling except in summer. Most of the buildings on Zhongshan Road are former sites of banks. Personally, I think they are beautiful, but many cities have similar ones, and they don't really show the characteristics of Qingdao.

Moreover, there are now all kinds of shops targeting tourists. So I suggest just passing by. But you can't ignore Zhongshan Road either, as it is, after all, the main road in the old urban area.

Tips: I don't recommend that you buy dried marine products on Zhongshan Road. You know the reason.

After walking for a while, you will find the way leading to St. Michael's Cathedral. In fact, you can almost see it throughout your walk in the entire old urban area. It was the tallest building in Qingdao at that time.
